Tampa General Hospital (TGH) - the primary teaching hospital for USF - is ranked in the nation for transplants, completing 889 transplants in 2024, a new national record. Since 1974, TGH has performed over 14,000 transplants, more than doubling its annual volume in the last six years. Lead surgical strategy, performance, and growth for adult heart transplantation Partner with heart failure cardiology, anesthesia, perfusion, CTICU, and transplant operations to drive outcomes, throughput, and patient experience Advance and integrate mechanical circulatory support (LVAD/ECMO/temporary support) as a unified heart replacement and recovery platform Leverage institutional capabilities in advanced donor pathways and organ preservation technologies (e.g., DCD platforms and perfusion innovation) Seeking a proven heart transplant surgeon with leadership readiness: outcomes-driven, collaborative, and comfortable building a ":team-of-teams": Expertise in donor evaluation and acceptance strategy, complex reoperative surgery, and high-acuity perioperative decision-making Track record in quality improvement, program development, and multidisciplinary alignment Strong Academic background and ability to contribute to education and scholarship Active involvement in resident/fellow/medical student teaching Strong environment for clinical and translational research, including institutional and industry-sponsored studies Robust
