CLINICAL PLANNER AND COORDINATOR
Position Statement The Clinical Planner and Coordinator is responsible for managing the practicum experiences (both direct supervision and preceptorships) for our PN and RN programs. The Clinical Planner and Coordinator will actively promote the mission, policies and procedures of the institution while preserving the professional relationship with each clinical facility. The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Planner and Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the management of the clinical relationship, overseeing and coordinating clinical experience schedules, conducting observational visits to each facility, interfacing with preceptors and facility representatives, and reporting all events associated with clinical experiences. The Clinical Planner and Coordinator will work collaboratively with the faculty, program chairs and administration to maintain the affiliation with clinical facilities and to secure new clinical affiliations. Moreover, the Clinical Coordinator will oversee and administer evaluations on the effectiveness of each clinical experience with clinical agencies and students. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Management of Clinical Relationship Oversight and Planning for Clinical Experiences Securement of New Clinical Sites Maintenance of Existing Clinical Sites and Contracts Audit and Verification of Student Medical Documents Job Responsibilities Manage and develop clinical relationships with Chief Nursing Officers, Directors of Nursing and other administrators Oversee the planning, preparation and distribution of clinical, preceptorships and lab schedules and calendars (for students and faculty) in collaboration with program chairs Supervise the coordination of clinical and preceptorship schedules with the representatives at each clinical site and with representatives from other colleges Identify, solicit and obtain new clinical relationships through networking, research and innovative strategies Develop and implement orientation program for clinical faculty members and students to facilities and our practicum policies and procedures Mentor new clinical instructors through first rotation Collect, review and audit preceptor and clinical documents Conduct debriefs with preceptors before and during clinical experiences Oversee and conduct observational clinical site visits Collaborate with program chairs in the planning, implementing and evaluating our clinical experiences Schedule relief coverage in absence of clinical instructor in coordination with program chairs Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies :
Associate or higher degree in nursing Proven experience with supervisory roles within an educational or business setting or other relevant experiences Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to organize and prioritize work flow Ability to meet deadlines Detail orientated An outgoing, approachable style and a passion for helping others Exceptional organizational, listening, and teamwork skills
