This position is responsible for managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, relaying messages, coordinating patient communications, and supporting the daily operations of the practice. The Patient Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience and maintaining the high standards of care and service associated with Carithers Pediatric Group. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to manage multiple communication channels efficiently. In this role, you will facilitate clear and compassionate interactions with patients, ensuring their questions are addressed promptly and accurately. Your efforts will contribute to enhancing patient satisfaction, streamlining appointment scheduling, and supporting overall operational efficiency within the medical facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Answer incoming telephone calls promptly, professionally, and courteously Accurately document and route patient messages to providers and clinical staff. Assist patients with appointment inquiries, and general information. Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information as needed. Monitor voicemail messages and respond or route messages appropriately. Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and office staff. Assist with referral requests, medical record requests, and other administrative functions as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with all HIPAA regulations. Prioritize urgent patient concerns and follow established escalation procedures. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, providers, and coworkers. Support office initiatives designed to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle a high volume of calls while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and practice management software preferred. Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer applications.
Pay:
From $16.50 per hour
