We are growing quickly and are seeking a skilled Home Health Authorization Coordinator to support our clinical and administrative teams. Position Summary The Home Health Authorization Coordinator is responsible for obtaining, tracking, and maintaining authorizations for home health services. This role ensures timely communication with insurance providers, clinicians, and internal departments to support smooth patient scheduling and billing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with payer requirements in the home health or healthcare field. Key Responsibilities Request, obtain, and verify authorizations for home health services from insurance companies and managed care organizations. Ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time. Track authorization status and follow up promptly on pending or expiring authorizations. Communicate authorization updates to clinical staff, schedulers, and billing personnel. Maintain accurate electronic records in the EMR system. Review payer guidelines and stay updated on any changes related to coverage or authorization requirements. Assist with insurance verification and eligibility checks as needed. Support the team with additional administrative tasks related to patient care coordination. Qualifications Previous experience in home health, healthcare authorizations, or medical office administration required. Strong understanding of insurance verification, authorization workflows, and payer requirements. Experience with EMR/home health software preferred (e.g., WellSky, Kinnser). Excellent communication and customer service skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
