Job Description:
Location:
2415 N. Orange Ave Suite 600 Orlando, FL Facilitates evaluations for potential VAD recipients by identifying candidates, reviewing medical records, and compiling tests. Documents comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnostic testing and functional status. Participates in team meetings, patient review committees, interdisciplinary rounds, and discharge planning sessions. Monitors post-VAD and heart function according to established protocols. Provides clinical support to VAD patients, coordinating with hospital nursing staff, VAD RNs, and the perfusion team.

  • Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of patient health information (PHI) [Required]
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, bylaws, regulations and instructions [Required]
  • Organ transplantation or procurement knowledge [Required]
  • Ability to make decisions ethically and to act as a patient advocate [Required]
  • Bilingual (English required/Spanish preferred) [Preferred]
Education:
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
  • Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
    N/A Work Experience:
    • 1+ of critical care or palliative care experience for patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness [Preferred]
    • 1+ of experience of advanced heart failure or post-operative cardiovascular experience [Required]
    • 1+ of teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
    • 1+ of ventricular assist device experience [Preferred]
    • 2+ of experience in an acute care setting within the last three years [Required]
