Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Practice Support Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as a key liaison between patients, medical providers, and insurance companies, ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. Your expertise in medical billing, coding, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems will help streamline patient workflows, optimize revenue cycles, and uphold compliance standards. Responsibilities Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification for patients. Review and process medical documentation including care plans, medical records, and billing information with precision and attention to HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical coding tasks such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement. Support front desk operations and maintaining a team based work environment. Conduct thorough documentation review to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and facilitate accurate medical billing. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans in EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems like Epic or Meditech. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in clinic operations and administrative support roles. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software. Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality. Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with insurance verification processes is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and documentation review.
