Job Description Are you currently in a leadership or management role, or looking to take the next step into one? We're seeking strong clinical leaders who are passionate about supporting surgical teams and driving high-quality patient care. This is a salaried position, with an expectation of working five days per week, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within Surgical Services at Children's. Facilitates and manages day-to-day department operations, including fiscal and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Experience 2 years of clinical experience in perianesthesia care Preferred Qualifications Advanced education in business, management, or related field 2 years of experience in management/administration in a healthcare setting Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) based on department-specific recommendation Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing Certification Summary Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment Professional nurse certification within 1 year of employment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities No minimally required knowledge, skills, or abilities Job Responsibilities Assists in budget preparation and monthly analysis of budget performance. Demonstrates fiscal accountability and participates in achievement of department financial goals. Manages utilization of staff for effective and efficient services. Collaborates with medical staff and all levels of hospital personnel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Manages ongoing process of healthcare delivery to patients and parents, incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements. Promotes autonomy and accountability by fostering an environment for staff to collaborate in effective problem-solving at unit and nursing service level. Demonstrates competent clinical care in accordance with staff nurse job description. Works collaboratively with point of care providers to offer advisement and supports infrastructure for shared decision making at unit and system level. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
