In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patient scheduling, insurance verification, and claims processing. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, exceptional patient service, and accurate management of insurance information. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving dental practice while utilizing your expertise in medical and dental administrative support, insurance procedures, and electronic health record systems. Responsibilities Coordinate patient appointments efficiently by managing the front desk schedule using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients prior to appointments, ensuring accurate eligibility checks through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Process insurance claims accurately by coding procedures with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review medical and dental documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans, treatment notes, and billing information. Communicate effectively with patients regarding insurance benefits, co-pays, and coverage details via phone or in-person interactions while maintaining excellent phone etiquette. Maintain organized medical records and ensure all documentation aligns with health information management standards. Support clinic administrative functions such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems to provide outstanding patient service. Requirements Proven experience in dental office administration or medical scheduling within a clinical setting; clinic experience preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology and insurance verification processes. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, or Meditech is essential. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software. Ability to handle dental billing and collections efficiently while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor and effective phone etiquette. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior experience with hospital or healthcare office management is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes.
