Administration Full-time X Part-time PRN/Hourly Exempt X Nonexempt The Clinical Director provides leadership across clinical, operational, and strategic domains within a CCBHC framework, ensuring services align with best practices and regulatory standards to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, including strategic and systems thinking, data and fiscally informed decision-making, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, complex, and evolving environment. Success is grounded in trauma-informed supervision, cross-team collaboration, and a commitment to timely, accessible care. The Clinical Director oversees multidisciplinary teams across Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton, and Clayton Counties through an integrated care lens, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous quality improvement. The role supports a broad continuum of behavioral health services for diverse populations across the lifespan. Key responsibilities include supervising and developing clinical staff, case consultation, and ensuring adherence to policies, corrective action and improvement planning, regulations, and evidence-based practices. The Clinical Director partners with organizational leadership (e.g., Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Health Informatics, and Training & Professional Development) to guide program development, treatment protocols, and staff training. Additional responsibilities include fostering external partnerships, monitoring service quality and outcomes through data, and ensuring programs meet established fidelity and performance standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision, coaching and/or training of assigned program(s).
- Lead integration planning efforts to align staff, workflows, documentation, standard operating procedures, and culture to maintain a unified vision and consistent service delivery across all counties.
- Provides clinical direction and consultation across all types of care, ensuring implementation of evidence-based and informed practices aligned with an integrated behavioral health care model.
- Guides development of suicide prevention protocols, clinical pathways, and best practices across the full continuum of care.
- Provides consultation and direction for prevention, routine care, specialty care programs, age and population-specific programs, and acute care services, including 24/7 programs.
- Supports development and monitoring of post-crisis follow-up care and transition planning to promote continuity and recovery.
- Monitors key performance indicators, including service utilization, compliance metrics, and outcomes.
- Oversee facilitation of clinical services to ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards to maintain readiness for external reviews not limited to:
DBHDD, DCH, NADD, CCBHC, HFR.
- Ensures all training meets regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Develops, reviews, and updates policies and standard operating procedures to maintain compliance and effectiveness.
- Ensures adherence to state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives through outcome measurement and data-driven decision-making.
- Monitors clinical documentation, EMR utilization, and fidelity to evidence-based practices.
- Participates in risk management processes, including incident reviews and corrective action plans.
- Provides supervision, mentorship, and leadership to clinical supervisors, program directors, and clinicians, including supervision toward licensure.
- Implements workforce development strategies, including training, competency development, and succession planning.
- Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, and trauma-informed leadership.
- Enhances coordination across behavioral health, primary care, substance use services, and community partners.
- Ensures effective clinical supervision structures and compliance with licensure requirements.
- Advances whole-person care by integrating physical health, mental health, and social determinants of health.
- Serves as a liaison with hospitals, schools, justice systems, and community organizations.
- Contributes to strategic planning, organizational growth, and service expansion.
- Leads innovation through program development, grant initiatives, and partnerships.
- Serves as the primary liaison with DBHDD regional offices and engages with state and county leadership to align services with local needs and VPH priorities.
Additional Functions include:
- On-call responsibilities for urgent health or safety issues.
- Collaboration with VPH leadership for strategic planning activities.
- Participates in external meetings, agency committees, initiatives and/or special projects and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's or doctoral degree in a behavioral health or healthcare discipline. Independent licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist, APRN, MD/DO, or equivalent). 5-7+ years of progressive clinical leadership experience, preferably in large behavioral health or integrated care settings. Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practices, crisis systems, and multidisciplinary team leadership. Strong skills in organizational management, data analytics, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in CCBHC operations, SAMHSA grants, or large multi-site behavioral health systems.
- Background in addiction medicine or access to appropriate consultation.
- Experience with quality improvement frameworks and population health models.
- Familiarity with value-based care, integrated care, and high acuity service environments.
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Requires long periods of sitting/standing. Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy. Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting) Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Ability to travel across program sites and respond to on-call or urgent clinical situations as needed
