Responsibilities The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and maintaining hospital privileges, government and commercial health plan membership and assisting in enrollment issues. The Medical Staff Coordinator will work closely with new and existing providers, Practice Coordinators and related departments to collect all items needed to obtain and maintain all provider privileges and enrollment. The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for meeting timelines for new providers. The Medical Staff Coordinator will work with various agencies to obtain and maintain licensing for providers including state medical licensure, DEA certificate, CPR certification, tracking and maintaining CME, delineation of privileges, maintaining case logs, etc. Qualifications Two years of medical credentialing experience. High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Cactus, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and health plan credentialing, re-credentialing and enrollment process; licensure requirements and regulations of various agencies such as the board of Registration in Medicine, American Board of Medical Specialties and Individual Specialty Boards preferred normally acquired through related work experience.
