Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will oversee the coordination of dental hygiene services, ensuring seamless patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient administrative support. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of dental and medical administrative processes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to exceptional patient care while advancing your career in healthcare administration. Duties Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications using dental practice management software Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Review and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Assist in the preparation of care plans by coordinating between dental hygienists, dentists, and patients to ensure comprehensive treatment documentation Handle medical billing and coding tasks including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) Conduct insurance verification and facilitate collections related to dental services Provide exceptional patient service by answering multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, managing front desk operations, and supporting intake procedures Maintain accurate filing of medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, filing systems, and clerical tasks such as typing reports and updating documentation review processes Experience Proven experience in a dental office environment or healthcare administrative support role with familiarity in dental terminology Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth; experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems is highly desirable Prior clinic experience with insurance verification, medical collection processes, and care plan coordination preferred Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), 10-key typing skills, and familiarity with office management software such as eClinicalWorks experience is a plus Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by ensuring smooth operations within our dental practice.
