CASE MANAGEMENT SCHEDULE
Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, Monday through Friday 8-4:30 POSITION SUMMARY An Outpatient Case Management Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the outpatient case management department. This administrative professional ensures efficient coordination of patient services, accurate documentation, and effective communication among case managers, social workers, healthcare providers, and patients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum (1) year prior administrative experience or equivalent; preferable in a hospital or medical office setting to include working knowledge of insurance and managed care. PC and Windows literacy required, as well as Microsoft Office applications- Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. as well as a variety of other office machines. Prior use of medical office software database preferred. Knowledge of, or coursework in, medical terminology. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work effectively as part of a team and respond well to supervisors. Must be able to interact with patients, other departments, physician offices, other acute medical care providers, insurance companies, pre-certification companies, employers, utilization review companies; and state regulatory agencies (GMCF, Medicaid). Self -motivated, showing initiative to tackle important issues, problems and tasks. Attention to detail skills are critical; ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and be flexible in order to adapt to variety on the job; ability to cross train to other functions as necessary. Must be able to organize workload in an efficient manner and type 30 wpm accurately. Requires flexibility in work schedule for accountability expectations for operations and process management.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Well-lighted, air-conditioned, general work area. Moderate noise level. Generally regular work schedule during normal office hours. Ability to sit, stand or walk for moderate periods. Safe and efficient operation of office equipment including copier, fax, printers, computer, and telephone. Reading of printed materials. Listening and verbally responding to customers, and staff. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs. Reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting required.
