We're looking for a confident and hands-on Hospitality Supervisor to join our team at Wellington College, one of the UK's leading independent schools. This is a fast-paced hospitality role where no two days are the same.

One day you could be supervising a formal dinner or VIP event, and the next supporting busy student dining operations or leading a team through multiple hospitality functions across site.

This is not a desk-based supervisor role — we're looking for somebody who enjoys being operationally involved, leading from the front and supporting the team to deliver excellent hospitality every day.

What Does Day-to-Day Look Like?

As HospitalitySupervisor, you'll oversee the smooth running of hospitality and catering operations across the College.

Your day could include:

Leading hospitality teams during events, conferences and formal dining functionsSetting up hospitality areas and ensuring all functions are event-readyDelivering team briefings before serviceSupporting food and beverage service during busy operationsLiaising with clients before and after eventsEnsuring allergen procedures, food safety and health & safety standards are followed at all timesSupporting with stock ordering, drinks control and hospitality administrationCompleting function sheets, emails, event updates and operational paperworkMotivating and developing team members throughout serviceProblem solving and responding quickly to operational challengesWorking closely with the Hospitality Manager and wider catering team to ensure smooth delivery across siteThis is a busy, hands-on role that requires strong organisation, attention to detail and a calm approach under pressure.

What we're Looking ForWe're looking for somebody who is:

Confident supervising teams in busy hospitality environmentsOrganised and able to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable leading services and communicating with clientsPassionate about high standards and customer serviceFlexible and proactive with a positive attitudeComfortable working operationally as part of the team
Essential:
Previous experience within hospitality, catering, events or food serviceStrong leadership and team supervision skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsGood organisational and time management abilityComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of food safety, allergens, COSHH and HACCP proceduresComputer literate and confident completing administration tasksAbility to problem solve and use initiativeFlexible approach to working hours and business needsBasic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates
Desirable:
