Clinic Services Specialist - Dialysis Administration 🔍 Iowa City, Iowa, United States New 📁 Healthcare Administrative 📅    9 hours ago Post Date 📅    26003737 Requisition # Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job Alerts The Clinic Services Specialist in the Department of Dialysis at UI Health Care provides administrative, clinical, and operational support across dialysis services, including outpatient and inpatient dialysis units, the Home Dialysis Unit, and satellite clinics in Grinnell, Muscatine, North Liberty, and Washington. This role serves as a key resource for patient and clinical workflows, supporting areas such as electronic health record (EHR) management, patient scheduling systems, care coordination, billing and compliance processes, and the management of medical information for the clinic team. The Clinic Services Specialist also contributes expertise in clinical and research environments while delivering exceptional communication and service to a patient population.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily administrative, clinical, and operational support to the Department of Dialysis Coordinate clinical visits and procedures Communicate with patients and external entities and manage the pre-visit activities by triaging patient inquiries. Communicate with other clinical sites both internally and externally Manage communications between clinical teams. Respond to request for information Gather medical information from patients and provide information using available resources. Make decisions and exercise a high level of autonomy while performing responsibilities Manage correspondence. Access the needs of the patients and interpret how the clinic team can serve them efficiently and effectively to enhance the patient experience. Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 1-year experience working in a customer service field. Experience in writing/developing correspondence with internal and external entities (e.g., patients, customers, vendors, etc.) Previous experience which demonstrates proficiency in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Demonstrated experience working independently with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience with
EPIC/EHR.
Experience working in a medical/clinical setting. Knowledge of clinical scheduling and coordination of patient activities. Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures C ustomer service experience or training. Knowledge of billing/compliances.
