At DES our goal is to increase the quality of life for our diabetic patients by providing the highest quality customer service levels in the industry. Summary This position supports the company's philosophy of patient centered care by coordinating excellent customer service to patients. As the gateway to the organization our Patient Care Team builds relationships with insurance companies, providers, suppliers and the initial relationship with the patients. Patient Care Team members will also back up the Office Support team and take calls. Job/Position Specific Duties Answers the telephone and disburses calls in a friendly, prompt and professional manner. Conveys messages accurately and appropriately. Coordinates Patient, Medical and Insurance records in a timely manner to ensure prompt delivery and payment for medical equipment and supplies. Enters orders accurately and according to defined policies and insurance restrictions. Handles routine Patient questions as they arise and forwards questions requiring research to the appropriate staff. Pursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goals. Adherence to standards of business conduct and compliance. Qualifications and Skills Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Excellent organizational skills to maintain patient records. Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of basic computer software, and the ability to learn billing software and electronic medical records required. Communicates well with patients and medical staff. Prior experience in fast paced service industry or customer service role preferred. Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred (not required).
