Job Responsibilities Project Management:
Manages the day-to-day requirements of ongoing construction and deferred maintenance projects to include the operational changes, fiscal tracking and decision making, and ensuring compliance with federal/state requirements. Management Support:
Ensures the Division's mission and values are followed while assisting the Deputy and Home Administrators in creating unity and consistency at all four Veterans Homes Supports the development of plans, priorities, performance standards, and procedures Coordinates support services with Home Administrators, Bureau Chiefs and other department, state and/or federal operations Reviews budget(s) and participates in the preparation of financial management reports Recommends policies and ensures consistency and compliance of operations Researches, analyzes, and interprets state and federal laws and regulations Conducts special management studies and projects Performs licensed Home Administrator duties at any of our four Veterans Homes as needed Directs program design and development, as needed Directs development of program manuals and training materials Consultation:
Advises the Deputy and the Administrator/Director in support services areas and participates as a member of the management team Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves or recommends solutions to complex issues, inquiries and problems Represents the organization to department management, staff, the community, or other organizations Directs development of program manuals and training materials; research, analyze, and interpret state and federal laws and regulations; recommend automated systems enhancements; act for the Administrator/Director Coordinates and participates in strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation Minimum Qualifications At least 5 years of experience working in a skilled nursing facility, including supervision of support staff, analyzing operational, management, or administrative problems to identify alternatives and implement solutions; allocating resources in a department or business environment; interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, and procedures and preparing and making presentations to groups. Good knowledge of management practices, fiscal operations, economic principles and practices, and statistical analysis, health care delivery systems, developing, monitoring and submitting budget reports. Demonstrated ability to prepare technical, analytical, and management reports; develop and monitor budgets; and effectively use Microsoft Office application, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Considerable knowledge of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, survey process, and interpretive guidance applicable to Skilled Nursing Facilities guidance for Skilled Nursing Facilities; state and federal long-term care regulations; quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) principles; nursing regulation trends and standards; and applicable licensing and certification requirements. Possess a valid Idaho nursing home administrator's license as defined in Idaho Codes 54-1605 and/or 54-1610. Licensure or temporary permit must be obtained prior to appointment and maintained as a condition of employment.
