Responsibilities Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is a leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services for its diverse population of children and adolescents. The Hospital is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to provide individual and group supervision and shared oversight of the psychology training program in both the inpatient and partial hospitalization settings. Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital has a specialized program the supervisor will take part in: The POLARIS program: Polaris is a first-of-its-kind, inpatient psychiatric unit (19-bed) for sexual and gender minority youth (ages 12 to 17). Polaris provides a place where gender and sexual minority adolescents can receive affirming psychiatric care and help addressing identity.
Responsibilities include the following:
Provide direct individual and group supervision to Psychology Department trainees (MA and Doctoral-level students completing practicum and/or internship training), including oversight of trainees' service delivery via live supervision and review of documentation. Assist with Psychology Department and training program general oversight and operations. Engage with the Training Department staff associated with each trainee's academic program. Provide direct observation of clinical services provided by the training programs Occasional direct service delivery, on an as-needed basis, which may include individual, family, and group therapy Overseeing and championing the specialty program-POLARIS unit, such as group curriculum development, identifying patient appropriateness and maintaining patient census on unit, mentoring staff on gender-affirming, trauma-informed care, etc. Sign-on bonus potential for qualified candidates. PhD, Psy.
D preferred; MSW, or Master's in Psychology, Counseling or related field Experience:
1-3 years experience in a behavioral health setting. Previous experience providing supervision to clinicians and/or trainees strongly desired. Licensure/Certification:
Licensed Clinical Psychologist, LCSW, LCPC in the state of IL Knowledge:
Knowledge of general and psychiatric principles, working concepts and theory, age-specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, individual, group and family therapy. Able to work cooperatively with other site staff and involved academic institutions. Good organization skills, as well as oral and written communication skills. Supervision Received:

Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
