Director of Clinical Operations Crusader Community Health is seeking a detail‑oriented, mission‑driven Vaccine Coordinator to oversee and support our organization's vaccine program across all clinical sites. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient vaccine management while contributing to high‑quality patient care in our community. About the Role The Vaccine Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining vaccine integrity, ensuring compliance with CDC, IDPH, VFC, and Joint Commission standards, and supporting clinical teams in delivering safe immunization services. This position oversees vaccine ordering, storage, handling, inventory, temperature monitoring, and staff training. Key Responsibilities Serve as liaison between clinical teams and the Director of Clinical Operations for all vaccine initiatives. Oversee vaccine ordering, inventory reconciliation, and utilization to maintain adequate supply and minimize waste. Maintain VFC enrollment requirements and ensure audit readiness. Coordinate staff training, competency validation, and quality improvement efforts related to immunizations. Ensure proper receipt, storage, and organization of VFC and privately purchased vaccines. Monitor and analyze temperature logs, digital data logger reports, and storage unit performance. Respond to temperature excursions and coordinate reporting with VFC and vaccine manufacturers. Track and report vaccine-related errors through the SafetyZone platform. Support emergency preparedness and cold chain management during power outages or disasters. Rotate stock, remove expired vaccines, and report waste as required. Travel between clinical sites as needed. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's degree preferred Current CPR certification required Experience 1-2 years of experience in vaccine management, immunization programs, ambulatory care, public health, or VFC administration preferred Experience with electronic medical records and ICARE preferred Knowledge & Skills Understanding of VFC Program, ICARE, CDC vaccine guidance, and cold chain management Familiarity with Joint Commission standards Strong communication skills—both written and verbal Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote) Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain professionalism, and work independently Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to travel between locations Physical Requirements Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and climbing Occasional lifting of 1-30 lbs; rarely up to 50 lbs (team lift required for >50 lbs) Continuous fine hand/eye coordination and attention to detail Rare exposure to blood/body fluids, temperature fluctuations, and hazardous chemicals Why Join Crusader Community Health?
