Job Description

Clinical Lead, Diagnostic Imaging Springfield Clinic United States, Illinois, Springfield 800 North 1st Street (Show on map) Jun 09, 2026 The Clinical Lead - Diagnostic is responsible for providing administrative and clinical oversight of the Diagnostic Imaging service. Job Relationships Reports to the Diagnostic Imaging Operations Manager. Principal Responsibilities Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high quality imaging across the practice.
Coordinate monthly department quality meetings with managers and technologists.
Leadership in all areas related to the Diagnostic Imaging department.
Schedule patients within accreditation guidelines.
Recommend equipment purchases; coordinates with vendors to identify new products and packages available to the Clinic.
Provide input into performance evaluations.
Train and mentor new Diagnostic Imaging technologists.
Assure the Diagnostic Imaging staff are compliant with policies and procedures; address identified issues with staff and consult with Operations Manager and to achieve necessary actions.
Collaborate with Radiologists on technically complex procedures and cases.
Responsible for equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies.
Coordinate with Imaging Operations Manager on issues related to staff retention and recruitment.
Participate in educational activities.
Perform diagnostic exams as needed/directed by physicians.
Perform or delegate all duties defined in the staff technologist position.
Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
Perform other job duties as assigned. Education/Experience Minimum of two to three (2-3) years' experience in diagnostic imaging.
Must be a graduate of an approved ACR school.
Completion of course of study in Diagnostic Imaging. Licenses/Certificates Must maintain current registration with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiology.
Must maintain current active licensure in Radiology with IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency-Division of Nuclear Safety).
CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Communicates highly sensitive information to physicians and administration in professional manner.
Must be able to perform diagnostic imaging exams.
Must be able to sit and or stand for long periods of time. PHI/Privacy Level HIPAA2
