Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgery Coordinator to join the Abrams EyeCare team. This role is responsible for serving as a liaison between the patient, physician and surgery center to ensure a seamless and positive surgical experience and outcome. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical administrative support, with expertise in coordinating surgical procedures, managing patient schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between clinical staff and patients. Hours vary from 7:30 - 4 pm Monday - Friday. Work schedule can require travel to a location other than your primary location as needed.

Ophthalmic Technician experienceJob Responsibilities:
Meets with surgical candidates to review process and instructions. Provides patient with packet of instructions. Schedules procedures and surgeries at surgical center and on doctor's schedule. Coordinates all necessary information; creates and coordinates surgical patient medical records, verifies necessary information, obtains consents and signatures. Coordinates procedures with physicians and surgical facilities. Contacts insurance payer to obtain prior authorization via phone or internet. Completes scheduling sheet for surgery center. Sends H&P's, orders, consents and insurance card to surgery center prior to surgery. Sends drop requests to pharmacy prior to surgery. Orders patient medications. Enters any pertinent information into the electronic medical records system. Monitors and responds to all surgery patient messages that come in via e-mail, phone, and EMR. Collects surgery prepayments. E-mails or mails customer satisfaction questionnaire to all patients. Assists with correspondence dictation by physicians if needed. Assists Billing with entry of surgical charges and posting completions. Assists with chart preparation Other duties as assignedEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
