Job Description
FUNCTION
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is a supplemental nutrition program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Education, food vouchers, and referrals are offered free of charge to low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under five years of age. The program's goal is to improve the health outcomes of this at-risk population. Reporting to the Chief Services Officer, the Director of WIC provides high level leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the WIC Department. This role is responsible for advancing program performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening community impact, and aligning WIC services with the agency's broader mission and long-term vision.MAJOR DUTIES
Serve as a member of the agency's Leadership Team and contribute to organizational direction. Participate in and contribute to the agency's strategic planning team, supporting long-term organizational goals. Provide leadership and direction for all WIC program operations. Oversee performance measurement, reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Active participant and member of the agency's Strategic, Planning, and Implementation Teams Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local WIC regulations. Direct program evaluations and required reporting to the State WIC Division. Lead fiscal management including budget development and monitoring. Monitor program financial health and caseload requirements. Analyze trends and legislation impacting WIC and recommend changes. Develop and maintain procedures to ensure effective program operations. Oversee referral systems and community partnerships. Supervise and develop WIC leadership staff. Ensure staff training and compliance with State requirements. Collaborate with internal departments to align with agency goals. Maintain relationships with State WIC offices and stakeholders. Oversee subcontractor compliance and issue resolution. Manage consumer satisfaction processes. Serve as System Administrator for ADP and SharePoint WIC systems. Participate in staff meetings and leadership activities. Provide CPA clinic coverage as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's preferred). Meets qualifications of a Competent Professional Authority (CPA). Qualified Nutritionist, RN, Dietitian, or related credential. 5+ years of progressive leadership experience. Experience in strategic planning and program leadership. Knowledge of WIC regulations and compliance requirements. Experience managing budgets and contracts. Strong analytical and communication skills.ORGANIZATION
