These programs foster professional readiness and increase student engagement. This role collaborates with faculty, administrators, and external partners to curate programs that include internships, service learning, field trips, and other experiential learning opportunities. These initiatives are carefully aligned with the academic curriculum and institutional goals to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience. This role also plays a pivotal role in assessing and continuously improving the quality and impact of experiential learning programs. This position will be responsible for the Experiential Education program with a specific focus on Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) while supervising others with focuses in Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) and Preceptor Site Coordination visits. This position will also hold faculty rank within the Pharmacy Practice department along with teaching responsibilities (0.25 FTE). This position will be recruited at the level of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor rank based on selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, 12‑month, faculty position with some required travel. The position will work primarily on the KU Lawrence campus, with set in-person days and remote or hybrid flexibility aligned with experiential education program needs. Job Description Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience Coordinator 60% Rotation Schedule Creation and Management for APPEs Rotation Site Maintenance onboarding Policy/Procedure & Rotation Syllabi management Student Engagement and Career Advising support Assessment and Quality Improvement Initiative management Website and Management System utilization Preceptor retention and recruitment activities including education and development Student development and professional identity formation activities Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in Pharmacy Practice 25% Teaching Responsible for the coordination and instruction of didactic and laboratory courses in the PharmD program as assigned by the Chair of Pharmacy Practice Participate in and provide support to interprofessional education activities as assigned Participate in and provide support to objective structured learning examination/objective structured clinical examination activities 10% Service Serve on department, school, and/or university committees, as assigned Participate in regional, state, or national organizations through committee service and volunteer activities Support student engagement in outreach activities such as health fairs and service initiatives Contribute to faculty recruitment efforts through participation on search committees, as assigned Build and sustain productive relationships with professional organizations and partners within the healthcare and pharmacy sectors Support student development through academic advising, professional mentorship, and active involvement with student organizations and professional societies Support with student outreach activities (ex. admissions, recruiting, student health fairs, school of pharmacy events, etc.) 5% Research Participate in scholarship resulting in conference presentations, peer-reviewed published manuscripts, peer-reviewed instructional materials, or invited lectures or presentations Research may include any type of practice- or educational-based research, with funding as needed to support the research. Research support may be obtained via direct grant or contract Required Qualifications As demonstrated by application materials, work history, or interview. For those applying at the Assistant Clinical Professor level: A terminal degree in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school. For pre-2000 graduates, a BS degree is considered terminal.) OR a Doctor of Philosophy in a health or healthcare related field. Record of effectiveness in teaching Experience in Experiential Education or equivalent Two years of management or leadership experience providing supervising and direction to others. Strategic vision for experiential education or learning. Experience with databases Demonstrated excellence in mentorship or precepting evidenced by evaluations or other written communications Excellent organizational and communication skills Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment Evidence of professional leadership, teaching excellence and team management skills Must be licensed as a registered pharmacist in the State of Kansas or must obtain licensure through the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of start date. Track record of effectiveness in clinical pharmacy practice For those applying at the rank of Associate Clinical Professor, all above listed requirements for the Assistant Clinical level apply as well as the following: A strong documented record of teaching, leadership, scholarship, and service accomplishments.
