Job Description
Overview:
The Director Home Health Services is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities of the assigned Home Health Department.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Conducts home health care visits alone or with staff members. Coordinates professional and therapeutic activities of the Home Services in accordance with state and federal regulations. Develops departmental policies in accordance with the Home Health Services professional advisory committee guidelines. Compiles and maintains an approved procedure manual for the nursing services of the home health agency. Serves as a member of the area committee of home health agency coordinators and may participate in inter-agency meetings of the various agencies within the community served by the home health agency. Assists in the development of the home health services budget. Establishes and implements a schedule for inservice education within the department. Determines department staffing needs. Develop and maintain records and statistics for the purpose of evaluation, cost study, and program analysis. Investigates and analyzes critical home health situations and gives directions for the solution of these problems. Prepares periodic department reports for submission to the Administrator. Annually evaluates the home health agencies performance.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse, BS required and MS is preferred. Should have a minimum of five years nursing experience, preferably in home health/public health. Must be licensed in the state where working. Must have good communication skills. #IND1
