This role ensures high-quality, compliant, and sustainable clinical care for clients with high-acuity mental and behavioral health needs , including serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic medical and psychosocial complexity. The Clinical Director oversees clinical operations, diagnosis and treatment planning, credentialing, billing compliance, and Medicaid revenue performance, working closely with program leadership and the Director of Finance. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Direct Care
  • Provide clinical oversight across all St. John Center programs. Conduct diagnostic assessments, establish DSM diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Coordinate care for clients with high-acuity behavioral health needs, including crisis intervention and co-occurring disorders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and provide clinical consultation to staff.
  • Ensure trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and evidence-based practices. Credentialing & Regulatory Compliance
  • Oversee and maintain provider credentialing with Kentucky Medicaid, Medicare (CMS), IRISE , and other applicable payers.
  • Ensure compliance with licensure, supervision, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor clinical documentation to ensure medical necessity and payer compliance. Billing & Revenue Cycle Oversight
  • Oversee all billable clinical services and documentation.
  • Complete or supervise prior authorizations and re-authorizations .
  • Select, coordinate, and manage the external billing provider.
  • Monitor claims, denials, and reimbursement trends.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to manage Medicaid reimbursements, revenue forecasting, and budget projections. Systems, Quality & Staff Development
  • Oversee EHR use to ensure data quality and audit readiness.
  • Support clinical staff through supervision, training, and performance feedback.
  • Promote staff retention and sustainable clinical workloads in a high-acuity environment.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
