shifts may vary depending on needs; Mon-Thu 8am-2pm, Sat 9am-1pm

POSITION SUMMARY

As a key member of the Wellness Department, the Healthy Living Coordinator will provide extraordinary customer service and information to current and prospective YMCA members. They will build new relationships with members that move them along a continuum from a casual connection to a committed level through increased engagement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Uphold the mission of the YMCA and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature. Serves as a role model and advocate of the YMCA Mission, Promise, Values and Voice. Provide high quality YMCA Healthy Living initiatives and programs that meet the need of the community and members. Foster and build strong member relationships through member engagement and follow-up communication. Assist in the interviewing, hiring, and training of Healthy Living Coaches, Personal Trainers, and the occasional Group Exercise Instructor. Build and maintain effective communication lines with staff, including ongoing observations and coaching. Serve as a role model for policies and guidelines in the wellness center. Maintain a safe, clean and functional wellness center. Maintain and recruit Personal Training clientele consistently. Assist in maintaining the Healthy Living Coach schedule and covering shifts when needed. Conduct routine follow-up communications with members regarding all wellness programming, including, but not limited to, Smart Start appointments, Personal Training and Youth Fitness Fundamental sessions, wellness programs, etc. Ownership of EGYM onboarding; becoming a Master Trainer (training provided by the Y) Strong following of SECA scans and consistency Key role in keeping equipment repairs Track and record completion percentages for Smart Start appointments Take direction from leadership in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the branch and/or association's success.

Noise level- Med-High Exposure to electrical/mechanical mechanisms
KNOW HOW/REQUIREMENTS
Excellent customer service and verbal skills Consistent positive attitude Ability to work with all age groups and ability levels Ability to conduct activities related to fitness Prefer Exercise Science/Physiology or related degree 1 plus years' experience in fitness related field preferred Prior supervisory experience a plus Nationally recognized Personal Training certification within 90 days of hire CPR and first aid certification course (30 days post hire) Understanding of the unique needs, challenges, and strengths of underserved communities, with a commitment to equitable service delivery.
