Possession of valid driver's license and insurable driving record Currently possess or able to complete first aid and CPR certification (training provided) Communicate well with others including staff and our individuals Ability to work under supervision and to supervise as needed in areas relating directly to nursing care.
Essential Functions:
1. Participates in scheduled program/administrative staff meetings as deemed relevant by the Director of Nursing or Vice President of ICF. 2. Updates and reviews physicians' order sheets for omission/errors every 30 days and ensures that the Medical Director- ICF and Consulting Pharmacist review and sign orders. 3. Assists cottage Clinical Managers and Director of Nursing with administrative duties such as budget preparation, development of policies and procedures, development of annual departmental goals, development of competencies, reviewing all components of health services to ensure quality of services and accuracy, i.e., departmental manual, job descriptions, policies, etc. as well as tasks such as ordering supplies, noting dictations, administering TB skin tests, etc. as directed. 4. Adheres with all state and federal regulations and nursing practice guidelines. 5. Provides in-service training to second shift cottage personnel on various aspects of health services including; the instruction of Direct Support Professionals on proper techniques and procedures for maintaining optimal hygiene, infection control, and other health-related issues as they arise for the people they support. 6. Assists cottage Clinical Managers in providing nursing oversight for individuals within the ICF, ensuring proper follow-up, health status review, and cumulative management of the individuals' health conditions. Schedules and provides health-training programs based upon assessment findings. 7. Works cooperatively with all clinical and therapeutic professionals to ensure sharing and distribution of health-related information needed for those professionals to perform their needed duties. 8. Checks baclofen pump settings as needed. 9. Reviews 24 Hour Health Services Report daily in all cottages for accuracy and omissions. 10. Accompanies individuals to the hospital during second shift hours. 11. Serves as supervisor to the second shift nursing staff which includes completing evaluations and corrective actions as needed. 12. Seeks staffing coverage and fills-in for second shift nursing staff when there is a call-in. 13. Works cooperatively with co-clinical supervisor to ensure adequate call coverage is provided for optimal health services 14. Completes monthly clinical service QA documentation as directed by DON 15.
