Medical Staff Office Position Description:
Assist in planning, developing, and organizing the operations of the Medical Staff Office to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of the hospital and to meet the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and or accrediting agencies. Coordinates the credentialing process/procedures for all practice provider applicants for Medical Staff Membership and Allied Health Professionals. Performs diversified duties of considerable responsibility under minimal supervision. Coordinates the Continuing Medical Education activities for the Medical Staff and manages the Medical Staff Library.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required; may be substituted with five (5) years of credentialing experience. Knowledge of Medical Staff credentialing process preferred. Basic computer literacy is required. Experience with Windows, word processing, and databases are preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required; diplomacy, tact, a positive approach and willingness to evaluate several sides of an issue. Organizational skills and confidentiality are a must. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
