Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Patient Food Services Manager to oversee the daily operations of our healthcare facility's patient services department. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for patients, their family members and healthcare providers, ensuring excellent patient care dining experiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in food service operations with a focus on patient satisfaction, and passionate about improving healthcare delivery through effective leadership and organizational skills. Responsibilities Oversee daily patient meal service operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality food delivery. Manage and supervise food service staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, FDA, Joint Commission, healthcare sanitation guidelines). Collaborate with clinical staff (dietitians, nurses) to ensure patient dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences are met. Monitor patient satisfaction and implement service improvements based on feedback and rounding. Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices in all kitchen and service areas. Control labor and food costs through budgeting, forecasting, and inventory management. Oversee menu implementation and ensure adherence to therapeutic diets and nutrition standards. Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory of food and supplies. Analyze operational data and KPIs to improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality. Support patient engagement programs, such as bedside ordering or room service dining models. Drive employee engagement, safety culture, and ongoing staff development. Experience 3-5+ years of food service management experience, preferably in healthcare, senior living, or hospital environments Proven experience supervising and developing frontline teams in a high-volume food service operation Experience managing patient meal services, including tray line, bedside ordering, or room service models Background working with therapeutic diets and collaborating with registered dietitians or clinical staff Demonstrated experience with food safety programs (HACCP), sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards
Pay:
$49,498.57 - $59,611.19 per year
