Job Description

Cornell Orthotics & Prosthetics is looking for our next best employee. We are a compassionate and dedicated orthotic and prosthetic practice committed to providing high-quality care and support to our patients. Our goal is to improve the lives of individuals who require specialized care by delivering personalized braces and artificial limbs. We are looking for a Patient Care Coordinator who shares our commitment to patient-centered care, with a focus on organization, empathy, and service excellence.
Job Description:
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for patients and their families. You will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive the care they need in a timely and efficient manner. Your role will require exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
    Answering Phones & Patient Inquiries:
    Responding to patient calls, providing information, and addressing inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
      Scheduling & Registration:
      Efficiently scheduling appointments and registering patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is entered into our system.
        Insurance Coordination:
        Understanding insurance coverage and assisting patients with insurance verification and communicating financial information.
          Physician Office Communication:
          Collaborating with physicians' offices to request and obtain necessary medical documentation and prescriptions.
            Patient Advocacy:
            Serving as a point of contact for patients, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their treatment journey.
              Administrative Tasks:
              Maintaining patient records, processing paperwork, and assisting with office organization and coordination.
              Ideal Candidate:
              • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
              • Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward patients, understanding their needs and concerns.
              • Good work ethic and commitment to providing high-quality care.
              • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
              • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
              • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
