Patient Care Services Summary Unit Description:
The Women's Oncology Unit at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore is a 29-bed surgical oncology unit with a focus on GYN malignancies. We care for a large variety of oncology patients, including male patients with solid tumors, orthopedic cancer and hematologic cancers amongst others. With a large, complex post-surgical population, this setting will allow the development of strong assessment, intervention and communication skills. Team Members also cares for patients who develop complications from their disease and complications from complex chemotherapy; during their stay, here you will develop strong relationships with both patients and their families. Capable of developing and/or advancing post-operative, oncology and chemotherapy skills. Summary Responsible for ensuring that safe, age-appropriate patient care is provided during hours of unit operation. Functions as role model, advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team. Provides overall direction for and coordination of unit operations needs Develops and sets strategic target plans for unit outcomes and specific customer service goals. Manages and prepares operations/capital budget to provide needed resources (physical and fiscal) in accordance with patient needs, established care standards, and within guideline
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience

Nursing Licenses And Certification:
  • Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
