Job Description:
Job Requirements We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Unit Clerk to join our Emergency Department on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team by managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring smooth communication within the department. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing exceptional support to both staff and patients. This is a Union position working 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, two days per week, with every other weekend required. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner Manage patient registration, admissions, and discharge processes accurately Coordinate communication between medical staff, patients, and other departments Maintain and update patient records and departmental documentation Schedule appointments and manage departmental calendars Handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately Ensure compliance with hospital policies and confidentiality standards Join our team and contribute to delivering exceptional care in a critical and fast-paced setting. Work Experience Education High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
Preferred Experience:
One year health care facility experience preferred. ED or hospital-based clinic experience preferred, familiarity with EPIC Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong customer service skills and professionalism Comfortable communicating with physicians; strong interpersonal skills
