Job Description

Make it happen at Hopkins As a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is a 266-bed acute care facility that has been serving the community for nearly 40 years. What You Will Do:
The Assistant Director, Magnet and Professional Practice champions a culture of nursing excellence, empowerment, and continuous improvement. Has oversight for hospital-wide strategies to sustain Magnet Designation including long-range planning, cross department alignment, staff engagement, and adherence to ANCC standards. Demonstrates communication strategies that advance nursing excellence, professional development, and a professional governance structure across all clinical departments. Coordinates the Nursing Annual Report. Supports shared governance by participating in system wide and local nursing councils. Enhances the participation of clinical nurses in the councils and council leadership. Champions nursing quality improvement efforts, including feedback processes for nurse sensitive indicators (NSIs) ensuring data integrity, performance benchmarking, and dissemination of outcomes. Serves as NDNQI Site Coordinator Increases confidence and capacity of nurses to lead and engage in meaningful evidence-based practice/research.
Who Should Apply:
Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing. Five years of clinical nursing experience with at least two years of interdisciplinary or interdepartmental program/project management experience at a nursing leadership level. Salary Range:
Minimum 67.19/hour - Maximum 104.15/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority. The Hospital reserves the right to modify employee schedules as needed.
