Job Description

Job Description Peninsula Eye Center is the eastern shore's premiere medical and surgical eye center. We have a team of board-certified ophthalmologists and optometrists on staff that can diagnose and treat a wide range of eye related medical conditions. Our mission at Peninsula Eye Center is to work as a team to provide excellence in patient care in a warm and welcoming environment. We believe that each employee contributes directly to the growth and success of our practice. A Patient Care Coordinator sets the tone for our patients both in person and over the phone. Patient Care Coordinator's should have a passion for providing compassionate care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position is responsible for coverage in both our Salisbury and Berlin locations. Responsibilities Ensure all patients are warmly greeted and assisted appropriately upon arrival. Effectively use a multi-line phone system. Serve as the main liaison between patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries with professionalism and empathy. Schedule and confirm patient appointments in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations. Coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary. Assist with verifying insurance information. Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing and data entry. Ensure the clinic environment remains organized, clean, and welcoming for all visitors. Skills Proven experience working in a medical office setting with familiarity in medical terminology. Strong knowledge of medical administrative support practices. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external personnel. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency with computer programs and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
