The Director, Epic Clinical Applications, is a key leader within the Information Systems (IS) Division at Children's National Hospital, reporting to the Executive Director of Enterprise Applications. This role provides strategic oversight and leadership for the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic's clinical applications, including workflows spanning Inpatient, Ambulatory (Primary and Specialty Care), and Emergency Medicine services.
This individual is responsible for ensuring that clinical technologies are aligned with care delivery priorities, support provider efficiency, and contribute to improved patient outcomes and safety. The Director partners closely with operational, clinical, and executive stakeholders to translate organizational goals into actionable technology strategies that advance evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and integrated care.
Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience. (Required)Master's Degree (Preferred)Minimum Work Experience10 years Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare information technology, with a strong focus on clinical applications supporting inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency medicine workflows. (Required)5 years At least 5 years in a leadership role, demonstrating the ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and manage complex implementations or optimizations of Epic systems. Experience in a pediatric or academic medical center setting is strongly preferred.
