Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Patient Service Front Desk Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This vital role serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and possess a strong understanding of medical office procedures, EMR systems, and insurance processes. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a welcoming environment that promotes patient satisfaction and operational excellence. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using EMR systems such as Epic, EClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth. Schedule appointments accurately, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes for Medicaid and private plans. Collect payments and process medical collections efficiently while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage medical records filing, scanning, and organization using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette; handle patient inquiries promptly and courteously. Assist with medical scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications to enhance patient experience. Support medical administrative functions such as data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies in a fast-paced clinic environment. Skills Proven experience in medical office management or front desk roles within a healthcare setting; pediatric experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, EClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth. Familiarity with insurance verification and co-pay collections. Ability to interpret medical terminology and documentation review procedures. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and sending faxes. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette in handling multi-line phone systems. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with health information management systems such as eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping and documentation review. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy practice environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
