SECTION 1
Job Summary (Summary of the basic functions of the position) Coordinates daily functions of the Scheduling Department of busy medical practice, including assigning tasks, coordinating work schedules and training the Scheduling team. Also, schedules appointments and performs various clerical duties to assist patients and clinical staff in providing patient care by performing the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities necessary to accomplish job functions)
Scheduling Coordinator Duties:
Coordinates Scheduling department functions to ensure the department is functioning as directed and is administered in accordance with regulations and policies and procedures. Coordinates work schedules and workflow of the department by assigning duties and tasks as directed by the Practice Administrator, to include other duties and tasks not defined on the Scheduler job description. Updates Practice Administrator on the performance status of the department and participates in performance reviews and coaching recommendations. Submits monthly meeting agendas and conducts those meetings, as approved by the Practice Administrator. Coordinates and performs in-services utilizing approved resources for support, in addition to orientation and training of new employees, and follow up training as directed. Schedules all appointments for providers in computer, except Mohs surgery patients. Verifies all pertinent patient demographic information in computer system, including insurance information. Confirms patients' appointment and answers incoming questions about appointments. Instructs patients in locations and directions. Enters appropriate data into computer, retrieves data, prints reports. Generates printout of next-day's schedules and distributes. Answers telephone, and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors to the correct telephone extension, takes messages as needed Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service. Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization Qualifications

Experience Requirements Minimum one year of work experience in a medical office.
SECTION 4
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving Basic to intermediate computer operation Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
SECTION 5
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Scheduling department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
