Job Description

The job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) House Manager is to perform a variety of tasks involving personal care and crisis management for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities who reside in a residential care setting. House Managers are also responsible for the following: Ensure each client's home is staffed according to state regulations. Communicate any staffing issues and assist with scheduling. If a staff member does not report to work or is otherwise out of the home, the House Manager will cover the shift until another staff member can be placed in the home. Ensure staff complete their housekeeping duties by keeping each client's home clean and presentable. If there are maintenance issues in the home, the House Manager will communicate the needs to the office or Maintenance, so they can be properly fixed in a timely manner. Implement new policies and procedures in each home and assess the effectiveness of overall program standards. Explain all rules and regulations to all staff and answer their questions. Maintain public relations with medical offices, referral agencies, state departments, client families, and other resources. The House Manager will maintain the positive reputation of the company at all times. The house manager oversees maintaining the activity calendar, activity tracking form, and medical appointment calendars in the home. Ensure each client reports to all appointments or meetings they have been scheduled for. If a staff member is unable to transport their client to an appointment or meeting, the House Manager will provide the necessary transportation. Check staff documentation for completion and accuracy. It is the responsibility of the House Manager to pull the report from the documentation supervisor and make sure all staff missing documentation in the home are completing it as soon as possible. Ensure Incident Reports are completed within the 24-hour time frame by the staff that were involved in the incident. The house manager is responsible for following up on this if the staff does not complete this task and making sure that the incident is communicated to the member's family and all management as soon as possible. Attending all staff meetings, as well as any client meeting involving a caseworker or state representative, including PCP meetings. Check Medication Administration Records (MARs) to ensure each client receives the correct medications. Take note of medication errors and assist staff with any issues involving ordering medication. It is the responsibility of the house manager to make sure the members always have 7 days of all medications on hand. It is the responsibility of the house manager to make sure that once the refills on the bubble pack are down to one refill, that you call the doctor and pharmacy to make sure these are refilled, so they do not run out. It is also required that house managers pass in all after appointments and hospital visit summary sheets to the medical auditor. It is the responsibility of the house manager to make sure they know the email login for the home and login information of the MESH card to be able to check the balance for member needs. It is the responsibility of the house manager to remind their staff in the home about any appointments to attend to. All comprehensive care assessments need to be submitted to the person according to the first of every month. All required monthly documentation to be submitted by the third of each month. It is the responsibility of the house manager to make sure all new staff members in the home are reviewing and understanding all documentation and resources provided. This includes all policies, forms, and materials specific to the client. It is the responsibility of the house manager to make sure that the members are getting their checks in a timely manner and are being cashed monthly. At no time should a member have more than one personal spending check to cash. In homes that have a vehicle owned by Legends, it is their duty to check the vehicle and report any safety concerns to the maintenance team. The house manager is required to maintain a valid driver's license and to keep up with all required certifications. Keep company morale high by recognizing the hard work done by staff, praising quality work, and reporting grievances to the office to ensure any staff complaints are acknowledged.

$24.00 - $31.00 per hour
