Sales role inside a fast-growing functional medicine practice. Built for someone who wants a career, not a clock-in job. Read this before you apply We're a successful, one-location functional medicine practice in Portland with plans to open clinics across the country. We help patients prevent disease and actually feel good in their bodies, not patch over symptoms. If you want predictable hours, multiple vacations a year, and the ability to clock out and forget about work, stop here. This isn't that role. If you've sold before, you actually care about your own health (not just as a topic), and the idea of getting in on the ground floor of something national is exciting to you, keep reading. What the work actually looks like You're the first conversation every new patient has with us. They've seen our content, requested a consult, and they're deciding whether functional medicine is worth the investment for themselves and their family.
Your job:
have a real conversation, figure out what's actually going on with their health, and tell them honestly whether our program is the right next step. Sometimes the answer is no. The patients who say yes have to be the right yes, or nobody wins.
Day-to-day:
Call new patient leads the moment they come in. Speed kills competing inquiries. Run consults. Listen first. Ask better questions than whoever called them last. Enroll when it's a real fit, refer out when it isn't. Follow up relentlessly. Most enrollments happen on the second or third touch, not the first. Keep the CRM clean so nobody falls through. Hand enrolled patients to our medical team with everything they need to start strong. Sit in on leadership conversations as we figure out how to take this from one location to many. What it's actually like to be here This is an in-person role. You'll split your days between our corporate office and the clinic, working a few feet from the rest of the patient coordinator team. The patient coordinator team itself is small right now: three of us full-time in the U.S. and four full-time overseas. The full company is 30 to 40 people across both sides of the operation. We meet every single day, and training is constant because the practice is moving fast and everyone is learning right alongside each other. Most of your consults happen over the phone. Patients call in from across the greater Portland area and beyond, and your job is to make a real connection through voice and listening, without the help of body language or eye contact. People who are great at this can read tone, pace, and pauses the way most people read faces. If you've worked remote-only or in a big quiet office and that's what you want, this won't fit. If you'd rather be in a room with the people building the thing, you'll like it here. Who we're looking for You've closed sales before. Doesn't have to be healthcare. Has to be consultative, not transactional. You're personally invested in your own health. This means nutrition and exercise are important to you, and health is a big part of your life You can talk with someone who's anxious about their body and their bank account without rushing them or being pushy. You want to be promoted. Founding-team roles open up as we add locations. You're fine with weekend and evening calls when that's when patients can actually talk. Compensation and trajectory $100K OTE Health benefits
