Golden Bell is a one-of-a-kind community coffee shop located near the shores of Torch Lake. Designed as a welcoming gathering place for both locals and visitors, Golden Bell offers a thoughtfully curated coffee program featuring Panther Coffee, seasonal food offerings, and a collection of locally inspired retail products. We believe hospitality is about more than serving food and beverages. It is about creating meaningful experiences, building community, and making people feel genuinely welcome. As we launch this exciting new concept, we are seeking an experienced Coffee Program & Hospitality Manager to help bring the vision to life.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Coffee Program & Hospitality Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day beverage operation, developing and maintaining quality standards, coaching and inspiring team members, managing inventory and retail merchandising, and creating exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who loves coffee, hospitality, community, and building something special.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coffee program leadership: Develop and maintain documented beverage standards and operating procedures Train and coach baristas on espresso fundamentals, milk steaming, latte art, and beverage consistency Lead seasonal beverage development and menu innovation Ensure quality control across espresso, drip coffee, tea, and specialty beverages Manage coffee, tea, milk, and beverage-related ordering Coordinate with the Torch Lake Cafe kitchen team on specialty syrups, seasonal offerings, and grab & go food items Maintain coffee equipment and coordinate servicing with Panther Coffee and equipment partners
Operations & Inventory:
Lead daily opening and closing procedures Conduct weekly inventory counts and ordering of beverage-related products Conduct weekly inventory counts and ordering of retail merchandise Monitor beverage costs, labor efficiency, and inventory performance Troubleshoot operational challenges and recommend improvements Assist ownership in developing systems that support growth and consistency
Hospitality & Team Leadership:
Hire, onboard, train, and develop barista team members Create a warm, welcoming, and memorable guest experience Lead by example through exceptional service and professionalism Assign duties, establish accountability, and maintain quality standards Promote a positive team culture through coaching, recognition, and performance feedback Troubleshoot customer flow and service opportunities during peak periods
Retail & Merchandising:
Curate and maintain retail displays and merchandising standards Research new products and evaluate guest feedback and market trends Partner with ownership on seasonal merchandise, events, and community programming Support growth of both beverage and retail sales through thoughtful presentation and guest engagement

Guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for Beverage quality is consistent regardless of who is working The café operates smoothly during peak summer volume Retail and beverage sales continue to grow Team members feel supported, trained, and engaged Golden Bell becomes a destination stop for both locals and visitors
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience in specialty coffee, hospitality, food & beverage, retail, or a related customer-facing leadership role Prior management or supervisory experience preferred Passion for coffee, tea, food, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences Strong organizational, communication, and inventory management skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced seasonal environment Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset Community-minded and relationship-driven Ability to work mornings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods Experience with specialty coffee is preferred but not required for the right hospitality leader
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation is commensurate with experience. $25
