Overall responsibility for enterprise-wide Neurodiagnostics services in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, including but not limited to EEG, EMU, EMG, autonomics lab, MEG, and TCD. Provides leadership and direction in planning, organizing, and managing the activities of the neurodiagnostic care delivery team. At the enterprise level, supports strategic program development initiatives across all neurodiagnostic locations, including conceptualizing, implementing, and evaluating models of care delivery, operational optimization, and strategic business plans that improve patient experience, operational effectiveness, and overall enterprise goals. The scope of the role includes direct oversight of the portfolio of neurodiagnostic services across the ambulatory medical group portfolio in partnership with the respective leaders over non-ambulatory medical group neurodiagnostic areas and hospitals to achieve enterprise-wide optimization across all settings of care. This role requires the ability to engage in successful and significant collaboration and alignment with leaders in clinical departments, service lines, and corporate services such as finance and revenue cycle. It is highly strategic in nature while also requiring strong operational execution skills to implement change at scale across the enterprise. This position will be the administrative/operational leader within a dyad relationship with the Department Chair/Division Head. Ambulatory medical group neurodiagnostic staff will report directly to this position. To maintain an ability to drive clinical program growth priorities through alignment of staff to the clinical leaders and physicians within their specialty department, clinical leadership and staff in hospitals and non-ambulatory medical group neurodiagnostic areas will maintain direct reporting to current reporting structures. Clinical managers/supervisors with oversight of these sites of care will have a dotted line reporting relationship to this position, to create connectivity with operational standards, productivity standards, and other performance expectations related to neurodiagnostic operations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the development of the enterprise-wide neurodiagnostic program strategy: Responsible for driving strategy across the Henry Ford Health enterprise, in collaboration with the clinical dyad as well as stakeholders in ambulatory and clinical specialty leadership. This includes a range of strategies that ultimately advance Henry Ford Health as the preferred choice for neurodiagnostic care while ensuring financial viability and success, including but not limited to strategies that address operational effectiveness, patient experience and convenience, changing payment models, and increasing competitive landscape. Optimizes neurodiagnostic care models across all sites of care through operational standardization, efficiency, and productivity improvement: Responsible for resource decisions that optimize staffing, throughput, and utilization related to all roles and resources that are part of each Neurodiagnostic Department across the enterprise.Tracks key performance indicators:
Creates measurement systems, tracking systems, and implement plans to address deviation from goal.Operational process improvement:
Implements new processes and technology to increase reliability and effectiveness.Patient Advocacy and Experience:
Ensures patient-centered care and address concerns or issues related to neurodiagnostic services. Creates and implements plans to improve care experience and environment.Physician and staff engagement:
Creates a culture of belonging and safety. Creates a culture of development through mentorship and professional development to leaders and staff. Engages with physician leaders and physician staff in a collaborative, supportive manner that fosters advancement toward enterprise goals and professional satisfaction.Clinical program growth:
Collaborates with specialty and service line leadership to advance clinical program growth strategies. Ensures staff competencies and training are in place.Compliance:
Supports regulatory compliance efforts to ensure sites of care are operationally prepared to adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. Oversees the process of EEG and EMG Lab accreditation. Collaborates with existing leadership systems and approval bodies, such as Neuroscience Service Line Clinical Council, Neurodiagnostic Clinical Council, and more, to ensure safe and successful neurodiagnostic operations. As the neurodiagnostic services and strategy evolve, develops recommendations for enhancement to leadership systems and governance structures in partnership with key stakeholders. Performs personnel functions including interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals and disciplinary action, as necessary. Administers budgetary goals and objectives for effective operations; collects and analyzes financial performance data and sets corrective actions under the direction of the Administrator. Oversees daily operations of workgroup including patient care flow and access, business office functions, and staffing in collaboration with leaders in the area.Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field. Master's or advanced degrees in health care administration, business or related field preferred. Five (5) years of experience in healthcare management with a focus on neurodiagnostic services. Previous experience in leading quality improvement initiatives/project management is strongly preferred. Proven leadership ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of healthcare professionals. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks. Deep knowledge of neurodiagnostic clinical operations, and experience with relevant technology and systems utilized. Compassionate and patient-focused, with dedication to improving patient outcomes. Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management in a healthcare setting.
