Position Overview:
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and clear financial insight to support leadership decision-making. This role oversees accounting processes, financial reporting, and financial analysis for a multi-location physician practice. The Finance Manager partners with operational leaders and the Revenue Cycle team to monitor financial performance, manage organizational resources, and support strategic planning. This position supervises the RCM team, and Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialists and ensures the integrity of financial systems, reporting, and compliance activities. This role operates within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework, with defined seat expectations that promote accountability, collaboration, and alignment with RSM's goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee and manage the monthly financial close process. Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting reports. Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping. Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and major balance sheet accounts. Coordinate with external CPA firm for periodic financial review and tax preparation. Lead the maintenance, monitoring, and delivery of quarterly state of the practice reporting. Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections. Provide financial analysis to support leadership decision making. Monitor financial performance and identify trends or variances from budget. Assist in financial modeling related to organizational growth and operational planning. Partner with Revenue Cycle Management team to monitor financial performance related to collections and reimbursement. Oversee reconciliation of revenue cycle reporting to financial statements. Monitor payer mix, reimbursement trends, and revenue performance. Support analysis of physician productivity and service line performance. Monitor cash flow and maintain oversight of banking relationships. Maintain strong internal financial controls across all accounting processes. Supervise accounts payable, payroll coordination, and expense management functions. Oversee vendor payment processes and financial record accuracy. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and financial policies. Support financial documentation and preparation for audits or financial reviews. Supervise Finance and RCM teams. Provide financial insight to support operational and strategic decisions. Collaborate with operational leaders to support financial accountability across departments. Maintain strong working relationships with external partners including CPA firms and financial institutions. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting clarity, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required. Additional certifications in healthcare finance or accounting are considered beneficial. Minimum Background Requirements Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience. Experience managing financial reporting and accounting operations. Experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation. Experience supervising accounting or financial staff preferred. Healthcare or multi-location business experience preferred. Physical Demands Mobility & Physical Activity Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to push patients in wheelchairs and assist with mobility needs. Dexterity & Computer Use Ability to view and type computer data efficiently. Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and electronic systems.
