Job Description

Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized billing specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, with an understanding of medical records and coding systems. This role is essential in ensuring accurate billing processes, managing collections, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The essential functions are a general description of responsibilities, duties and tasks that are expected of this position. It is not meant to be an all-encompassing list. Additional duties may be assigned as business or client needs dictate. Essential Functions Ensure timely preparation, submission and acceptance of claims to all payers Assist in accounts receivable for insurance claims and patient accounts Assist in answering customer inquiries. Assist with all day-to-day office operations as needed (such as tracking/ordering of inventory & general upkeep). Organize & distribute faxed records. Complete medical records requests. Participate in monthly staff meetings. Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations Adjust schedule as needed to help cover the front desk when others are on vacation. Follow-up and report status of delinquent patient accounts Prepare, review and send out patient statements as requested Perform insurance checks. Submit prior-authorization requests as needed Track packages for memberships, massage, personal training, nutrition and cash pay physical therapy Take patient payments over the phone Answer questions from patients, clerical staff and providers Identify and resolve patient billing complaints Participate in educational activities for job/personal development Suggest improvements to processes and practices when observed Actively participate in staff meetings Any other duties assigned.

Requirements:
1+ year(s) of experience in a healthcare office setting (preferred). Strong multi-tasking skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong time management skills.
Computer proficiency:
Microsoft word, Excel spreadsheets, experience with EMR systems preferred. Possesses integrity and is trustworthy and dependable. Friendly, outgoing, compassionate personality. Willing to collaborate and work in a team environment. Demonstrates impeccable client focus. Enthusiastic and passionate about health and wellness.
