Job Description

Cura of Watkins is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health Unit Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This position is opening due to our current HUC retiring. The current HUC will be there to help train in, and answer any questions as needed to ensure the selected candidate is set up for success. Ideally, the chosen candidate would be able to start around August 1st. The Health Unit Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation for the nursing team by handling administrative tasks that support patient care, such as order supplies, scheduling rides for residents, entering patient information for new admissions, doctors orders, and other medical record tasks. This
Responsibilities Maintain accurate patient records and unit documentation. Schedule appointments in collaboration with clinical team members. Manage telephone calls, messages, and inquiries efficiently and professionally. Order and maintain inventory of medical and office supplies. Support a positive and organized environment within the healthcare unit. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical or administrative certification is a plus. Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, medical records or similar medical office role preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting. ability to work with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
