Clinical Coordinator

Joplin, MO Become a Lion and join the Pride! Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) seeks a qualified Clinical Coordinator to teach in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program. The Clinical Coordinator will oversee and coordinate clinical education, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, build and strengthen clinical partnerships, and provide effective instruction in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. This position contributes to the preparation of competent entry-level sonographers capable of meeting certification requirements. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for: 1) the development, coordination, and maintenance of clinical rotation schedules; 2) frequent communication with clinical affiliates, preceptors and site supervisors to monitor student progress and clinical site effectiveness; 3) evaluation of clinical competency and facilitation of student remediation; 4) instructional delivery in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings; and 5) assisting with preparation of accreditation documents for initial and continuing accreditation of the program.
Qualified applicants possess the following:
  • Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred.
  • Active credentials in at least one concentration offered within the program (Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Vascular, Cardiac); multiple credentials preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer.
  • Documented experience in instruction, supervision, evaluation, and student guidance.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
