Full-Time Summary:
Responsible for scheduling patient appointments for all outpatient services of the facility. Records statistics as requested. Performs other duties as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsible for patient scheduling for the following outpatient areas: Surgery, Radiology/Imaging, Cardiac Clinic, Pulmonary Clinic, Sleep Center, Sunflower Diagnostic Center and Rural Health Clinic. Coordinates outpatient services referred off site and schedules appointments for patients referred to outside providers. Enters all appointments into the computer. Works with outpatient department managers regarding times of service, length of procedures, etc., for appropriate scheduling of patients. Provides patient with any pre-appointment special instructions Prepares daily patient schedules for Surgery, Radiology/Imaging, Cardiac Clinic, Pulmonary Clinic, Sleep Center, Sunflower Diagnostic Center and Rural Health Clinic; delivers to all appropriate departments. Updates information in the computer system for return patients. Verifies insurance and obtains prior authorizations prior to scheduling and provides patient with deductible/copay amount.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of medical terminology course or medical secretary program or 2 years experience as scheduler. Minimum of one year experience as a scheduler.
