Helena, MT 59601 Temporary, Full-time Temporary, Full-time AmeriCorps Member - Community Health Corps Montana Full-time | September 14 - July 30, 2027 | Stipend + Education Award | Montana-based Join Community Health Corps Montana (CHCM) and spend 10.5 months making a meaningful impact across Montana by expanding health access, reducing stigma, and strengthening community partnerships.
What You'll Do:
Serve ~40 hours/week at a local organization (clinic, nonprofit, or public agency) Support education, outreach, data, and systems improvement in one or more focus areas: Mental health, Substance use recovery, Chronic disease prevention and/or Social Drivers of health (housing, food, access to care) Gain hands-on experience in public health, community engagement, and nonprofit systems Members serving in behavioral health outreach roles will support projects that reduce stigma, strengthen communication, and improve access to recovery and behavioral health resources. Activities may include outreach to businesses interested in becoming Recovery Friendly Workplaces, helping develop employer trainings or resource materials, supporting communities of practice, creating awareness campaigns, connecting behavioral health professionals with rural and tribal communities, and assisting with tools that make behavioral health systems easier for partners and providers to navigate. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in behavioral health outreach, recovery education, stigma reduction, employer and community engagement, and health communication.
