HOSPICE ADMINISTRATOR/CLINICAL MANAGER
Full Time Job Description:
Supervise and manage the operational processes of the sub-unit/branch offices/programs assigned. Facilitate the delivery of home health services by acting as a resource for staff, physicians, referral sources, patients and other internal and external customers. Monitor clinical processes, documentation and financial data to ensure that all services are provided efficiently and effectively with appropriate resource utilization. Provide coordination and oversee case management of all patient services. Ensure appropriate documentation for both patient care and staff performance. Perform record review audits, i.e., Start of Care (admissions) and recertifications. Ensure coding of patient medical records is accurate and applicable to the patient's diagnoses. Supervise all direct care staff as well as schedulers, OSTs and Homecare Liaisons. Provide direct patient care as necessary, assign clinical staff as appropriate to case manage patients and ensure the efficient, effective utilization of existing staffing resources. Participate in orientation, competency evaluation and education/training activities that are appropriate to identified learning needs of staff. Perform human resources functions in accordance with agency policy and procedure to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, OSHA and CDC guidelines and accepted principles of infection control. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Requires current RN licensure within state of branch location, and successful completion of nursing education from an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred. Requires five (5) years of clinical nursing experience that encompasses a variety of clinical settings. Three (3) years of home health experience preferred. Requires in-depth knowledge of homecare regulations as well as knowledge of home health operational and clinical processes. Understanding of the principles of the prospective payment system and financial management of home health service delivery. Ability to analyze financial and statistical data. Current knowledge of Medicare coverage and documentation guidelines and standards of medical record keeping. Knowledgeable of applicable state and federal rules and regulations that govern the provision of home health services. High level problem solving and reasoning skills. Strong communication (oral and written) skills and be literate in the English language. Good clinical nursing skills. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact and communicate in a professional and tactful manner with all internal and external customers.
