This role plays an important part in guiding day-to-day operations, supporting staff growth and teamwork, and leading improvement efforts — all with the goal of creating an exceptional experience for our patients and a positive, supportive environment for our team. Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational Leadership Manage and coordinate patient care flow and clinical staff scheduling across all providers. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate eye care services, programs, and clinical activities. Oversee daily clinic operations to ensure efficiency while maintaining high standards of care. Serve as the clinical lead in the absence of the Practice Manager. Troubleshoot real-time operational issues affecting patients, staff, or providers. Staff Management & Development Work alongside the Practice Manager to manage personnel actions including hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling of clinical staff (technicians, patient service representatives) Provide coaching, counseling, and when necessary, conduct formal disciplinary actions. Update training programs for new and existing clinical staff as needed, including equipment use and clinical protocols. Foster a culture of teamwork, positivity, professionalism, and exceptional patient service. Patient Care & Experience Address and resolve patient concerns related to clinical services. Implement processes that improve patient flow, reduce wait times, and enhance overall satisfaction. Resource & Facility Management Identify clinical operational needs and manage appropriate inventory levels of medical and diagnostic supplies. Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs. Assess the clinical environment and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, and patient experience. Administrative Support Collaborate with Practice Leadership in determining staffing and equipment needs to support clinic growth. Monitoring clinical productivity. Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, including those related to patient care, documentation, and clinical workflows. Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives. Support implementation of new clinical services, technology, and workflow improvements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Eligibility Requirements Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, biology, health sciences, or related field preferred Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting Strong knowledge of optometric diagnostic equipment and clinical workflows Preferred Qualifications Experience in a multi-provider or high-volume clinic Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and clinical documentation standards Experience with quality improvement initiatives in a healthcare setting Key Competencies Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
