Job Description

Where You'll Work At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our outpatient Oncology Director, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of resources necessary for the achievement of maximal clinical patient outcomes within Oncology services. Every day you will provide leadership in the activities of the clinic, interpret hospital and clinic policies to department staff, and analyze and resolve worker and work-related problems. You will also work collaboratively with interdepartmental staff persons and allied health care professionals to coordinate the administration of outpatient chemotherapy, intravenous infusion, radiation therapy, and oncology support services. To be successful in this role, you will effectively manage comprehensive oncology operations, ensuring high clinical patient outcomes, resolving operational challenges, and fostering seamless interdepartmental collaboration, all while responsibly interfacing Oncology services within the health system. Coordinates and plans work flow of department consistent with appropriate benchmarks Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations Allocate and direct staffing needs to meet patient, unit and department needs, and collaborate with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met Manage performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our commitments using corrective action Maintains a daily operative awareness and supervises patient care daily Ensures proper professional, safe, quality operations through active participation and development of quality management plan and compliance with inventory within budget constraints to assure uninterrupted services Job Requirements Required Bachelor's degree in Healthcare related field Minimum of Five (5) years in Oncology services Preferred Master's degree in Healthcare related field
