Job Description

P OSITION SUMMARY
The Health Services Administrator (HSA) oversees the day-to-day operations of healthcare services within an assigned correctional facility. The HSA ensures the delivery of safe, effective, and compliant medical, mental health, and behavioral health services in accordance with contractual obligations, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards (NCCHC, ACA). This position manages healthcare staff, coordinates clinical operations, and serves as the primary point of contact for facility leadership regarding health services. Education and Experience Requirements Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, or bachelor's degree in health administration, Nursing, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting; correctional healthcare experience preferred Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations, clinical operations, and accreditation standards Must pass all required background and security clearance checks Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations of the health services unit, including medical, mental health, and behavioral health services Ensure adequate staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet the facility's healthcare needs Monitor clinical performance, quality indicators, and operational compliance Staff Management & Development Supervise nursing and clinical staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development and adherence to clinical standards Conduct regular staff meetings and maintain open communication channels Clinical Oversight & Compliance Ensure delivery of healthcare services meets NCCHC, ACA, DDOC, and organizational standards Conduct audits of medical records, clinical practices, and procedural compliance Develop, implement, and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and protocols Collaborate with regional leadership on quality improvement initiatives Communication & Collaboration Serve as the primary liaison between the healthcare unit and correctional staff, administration, and external stakeholders Communicate effectively with staff, facility leadership, and oversight agencies regarding operational or clinical concerns Participate in meetings with corporate leadership and client representatives as required Financial & Resource Management Manage the healthcare unit budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment Approve supply orders, minor capital purchases, and ensure efficient use of resources Emergency & Risk Management Respond to emergencies and provide clinical guidance as needed Ensure adherence to facility safety protocols and emergency preparedness procedures Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned to support the goals of CFG Health Systems #
INDALL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Completion from an accredited school facility with a bachelor's degree in nursing, Masters preferred (can be
MHA, MBA
with undergraduate in Nursing) Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state in which the facility is located (maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times). Minimum Work Experience At least three years of management experience or equivalent supervisory nursing experience in a healthcare setting required. Previous correctional health care experience preferred. Required Skills and Competencies Strong leadership, management, and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Knowledge of correctional healthcare regulations and accreditation standards Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information
